Managing Stress & Anxiety in Turbulent Times with Art, Meditation, & Expressive Writing

In daily life and especially in turbulent times, we experience stress and anxiety which has debilitating effects on our mental and physical wellbeing. Many people rely on drugs, alcohol, or other unhealthy and additive measures to cope. However, Tyffany has learned other, more healthy and life sustaining ways to reduce or relieve stress and anxiety.
These tools have been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety. Tyffany knows this because she wrote a paper on these techniques for one of her graduate courses at Sofia University, and she also practices these techniques. This workshop uses mindful and creative expressive approaches to help participants manage or alleviate stress and anxiety.
Participants will learn the 4 kinds of stress as articulated in Elizabeth Lesser’s book, The Seeker’s Guide: Making Your Life A Spiritual Adventure and engage in mindful and creative practices to manage discomfort.
In this experiential workshop, Tyffany guides participants through mindfulness practices (meditation and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping) and activities that address the dis-ease of stress (expressive writing). Participants will learn about stress and anxiety by exploring their relationship with themselves, others, and the external world. Improve their emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing by processing stressful energy through creative expression - mandala art which participants will create; build skilled empathy for themselves and others by observing stress and and anxiety through the lens of compassion; and become more aware of how their internal system signals the initiation of external triggers and how to react when you are triggered.
